Almost 8 years ago several Saturday Market
Artists got together and created, from scratch, an Art Co-Op
in the Alberta District. It was named Six Days because now
their art could be displayed and sold six days a week,
as opposed to two. Since then our membership level has been
anywhere from 12 -20 members. We are constantly growing and
evolving.
We
are an art co-op, which means that all members share responsibilities
including working in the store, paying rent and making decisions
regarding how the shop is run. However we do have a Steering
Committee, which we call the Board who help keep our all
members business meetings down to a couple hrs instead of
several. We do not take work on consignment or wholesale.
Six
Days Artists Cooperative is currently seeking new members.
We are looking for quality artists who want to be a part
of a gallery that relies on its members for mutual support.
Dedication to making the store successful is important and
we look forward to growing with new, inspiring, talented
artists.
Unlike
many cooperative art galleries, all of our members’
artworks are on view year-round, instead of for isolated
shows. We are very active participants in Last Thursday
activities and events. We hope to soon be offering classes
and workshops.

best in our Co-op environment.
